Coastal Management Solutions, Inc. is actively seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services for the Kansas Department for Aging & Disability Services (KDADS) in Osawatomie, Kansas. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated physician to provide comprehensive psychiatric care while working as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team in a state behavioral health setting.

Position Highlights

• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

The Psychiatrist will:

• Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning for patients.
• Assess, prescribe, and monitor psychiatric medications and treatment interventions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and care planning activities.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated.
• Prepare court reports in collaboration with the treatment team.
• Attend court hearings and provide expert witness testimony when required.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely medical documentation.
• Participate in admission, discharge, and continuity-of-care planning.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualified candidates must:

• Possess a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
• Have completed a residency in Psychiatry through an approved training program, or have completed at least two years of an approved psychiatry residency training program.
• Possess a current, active, and unrestricted Kansas medical license.
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and psychiatric treatment skills.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Be eligible to work in the United States and meet all applicable employment requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in inpatient psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, state hospital settings, or community behavioral health.
• Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• Experience providing testimony or participating in legal proceedings related to patient care.
